Retribution Update 5/25/21

Just to keep you posted, I am still working on Retribution. It has been slow for a variety of reasons, one of which has been coming up with detailed elements of the story. Unlike some authors, I do very little outlining for my books. I’ve tried several times, but it doesn’t work for me. The best way I can put it is that I let the characters develop much of the story. Now and then, they go quiet on me, and I have to actually use my imagination.

Believe it or not, I can go a long time (weeks) before the right idea strikes me. Then I go like crazy until I hit the next snag. Presently, things are rolling along. I wrote about 16K words in the last week and am now up to 56K. Officially the 50k mark constitutes a novel. But as you know, most of my books are between 85 and 100K. So based on history, I am over halfway through.

I sent a note to my editor Tammy telling her about the progress, and she is pleased. What you may not know is that she challenged me to write two books by January 10, 2022. Presumably, that means finishing Retribution and the next book in the series by that date. The thing is, I still don’t have an idea for the follow-on to Retribution. I’m counting on the next story becoming firmer as I get toward the end of this one.

As always, I appreciate all of you who read and follow the books. If you haven’t done so yet, consider reviewing all that you have read. While comments are appreciated and encouraged, a star rating on Amazon and Goodreads will be appreciated. If you aren’t familiar with Goodreads, look it up on Google. It is a home for readers and a showcase for books coming out. It is also free.  My books are in there, waiting for you and others to read and comment on.

Until next time, THANKS!
