Insurrection Update

I just sent the first draft of Insurrection to my editor as the start to the editing process. This update is to make you aware that progress is being made and I met the deadline set for me to write two books by January 10th. It is also to let you know that my long-time editor, Tammy Salyer, is moving on from most of her editing duties and back to writing. It is a great choice for her, but I’ll miss working with her. She has been both and editor and a teacher, a rare combination.

Insurrection continues the Records of the Argos. This time however, they are not on an assigned mission. Instead, they are taken away from their Consortium colleagues and transported to another world 1400 light years away. When they arrive on scene, they find a planet enslaved by a technologically superior race. The crew of the Argos does not have to help, but they decide it is the right thing to try. They are outnumbered and out gunned as leaving the troubled planet grows not only more likely, but even necessary.

In writing this book I obviously had some initial ideas, but a short way into it, my usual process failed me, and I did the unthinkable: I started an outline! Even that was a challenging task and the days led to weeks trying to figure out how the story would actually develop. I’m almost afraid of what Tammy will say in her last effort for me.

As readers, I would be interested to hear what sorts of stories you would like. They can be for the Argos crew or perhaps a totally different cast of characters and missions. Let me know.
